The local choice of cars in Goulmima can be limited, so many travelers rent in Errachidia, in the city or at the airport. This guide explains what to compare, what to confirm in writing and how to prepare the drive.
Goulmima is an oasis in the Ghéris valley, in Errachidia province (Drâa-Tafilalet region), in south-eastern Morocco. Its palm groves and ksour draw curious travelers, and many Moroccans living abroad return here to see family. If you are looking for car rental for Goulmima, this guide helps you decide where to collect the car, which category to choose and what to confirm in writing with the agency.
In a small town, the choice of vehicles available locally can be limited. Many travelers therefore collect their car in Errachidia, in the city or at the airport, then drive on to Goulmima. For details on renting in the provincial capital, see our Errachidia car rental guide.
As an indication, a rental budget is around 100 to 700 DH (dirhams) per day, depending on the vehicle category, the season, the agency and the actual offer. It is a reference point, not a quote: only the price written in the agency's offer counts.
RentalMe is a Moroccan marketplace in preparation that connects renters with professional rental agencies. RentalMe does not own or supply the cars, and it is not a private-owner rental platform: each agency manages its own vehicles and sets its own terms, insurance and deposit.
Where you collect the car affects the choice of vehicles, the price and how smooth the trip is.
Errachidia is the most logical starting point for most travelers: you can arrive by plane or by road, then collect the car in the city or at the airport. Ask the agency to confirm the exact handover location and its opening hours, especially if you arrive late.
If your stay begins in Casablanca, Marrakech or Fès, you can also rent there and reach the south-east on a road trip. In that case, check in the terms that long inter-regional journeys are allowed and what the insurance covers along the whole route.
If you find an agency in Goulmima, or an agency offers to deliver the vehicle to an agreed point, get the availability, location, time and any delivery fee confirmed in writing before you travel.
Tips for pick-up and return:
The right choice depends on the number of passengers, your luggage and the roads you plan to use:
If you are considering tracks, ask the agency whether this use is allowed in the contract and covered by the insurance.
At busy times, such as summer, school holidays or festivals, SUVs and family vehicles can go quickly. Ask early and request written confirmation.
Conditions vary from one agency to another. Always rely on the professional rental company's written offer: contract, terms and conditions, and confirmation message.
Before booking, ask the agency:
The deposit is an amount blocked or paid at pick-up, then returned after the vehicle is checked on return. Ask for its amount, payment method, refund timing and what can lead to a deduction: damage, missing fuel or late return. Also ask for the price of extras, such as a child seat or an additional driver, and the cancellation terms.
Ask the agency:
When you collect the car:
