Introduction to Agadir Car Rental with RentalMe
RentalMe is a Moroccan marketplace where travelers compare offers from multiple professional rental agencies on a single site. You can filter by vehicle type, insurance, mileage allowance, and agency reviews, then book online in a few minutes and pick up directly at Agadir Airport or at a city branch. RentalMe provides secure payment options for vehicle rentals, verified agency profiles, and customer support in French, English, and Arabic throughout your trip.
Agadir Airport: Your Main Gateway for Car Rental
Agadir–Al Massira Airport (code: AGA) is the international airport serving Agadir and the Souss-Massa region. The airport recorded over 3 million passengers in 2024, and ONDA plans to expand terminal capacity from 2.6 million to approximately 7 million annually. Direct flights connect AGA to Paris Orly (4 daily flights), Brussels, London, and Madrid via carriers including Royal Air Maroc, Transavia, TUI fly Belgium, and easyJet. Agadir Airport serves as a major car rental hub, with three car rental locations available at or near the terminal.
Picking up a rental car at the airport saves time compared to arranging taxis or transfers, especially for families arriving at night with luggage. Many RentalMe partner agencies offer meet-and-greet at arrivals, with clear signage and reserved parking spots for handover. For travelers planning multi-city itineraries through Morocco, AGA provides a more direct gateway to the southern coast than Marrakech-Ménara (further inland) or Casablanca Mohammed V (far north).
Why Use RentalMe for Your Agadir Rental?
RentalMe is a Moroccan SaaS marketplace specialized in vehicle rental. Only professional agencies list their fleets, covering cars, SUVs, vans, and occasionally motorbikes. Instead of visiting each agency's website separately, you compare them all in one interface.
What this gives you as a traveler:
-
Price comparison across multiple Agadir agencies, with total cost shown including taxes and fees
-
Secure payment methods that protect against fraud during transactions; secure payment options are essential for vehicle rentals, and RentalMe handles this through encrypted card processing
-
Verified profiles for each agency (registration, license, fleet condition), so many rental platforms offer verified profiles for security
-
Transparent conditions on every listing: insurance excess, mileage policy, deposit amount, fuel policy
-
Flexibility: you can change or cancel bookings at no extra cost, and online booking often includes flexible rental options
-
24/7 availability: rental services are available around the clock for convenience
A solo traveler landing at Agadir Airport in October can book a compact car (Renault Clio or similar) for 7 days and pick it up at arrivals. A family of four looking for space for luggage and child seats can rent an SUV (Dacia Duster) for a surf trip to Taghazout. Both bookings happen in the same interface.
Types of Vehicles to Rent in Agadir
Agadir and its surroundings mix city driving, coastal highways, and some mountain routes with steeper gradients. The right vehicle depends on your trip. Agadir offers a variety of rental vehicles including SUVs, and compact cars are also available for rent in Agadir. Rental options include vans and luxury convertibles in Agadir as well. Here is what to consider:
-
Small city cars (Fiat 500, Peugeot 208): easy to park in narrow streets, lowest fuel costs; good for couples on a weekend city break
-
Compact sedans (Dacia Logan, Renault Clio): more trunk space for luggage, budget-friendly daily rates; a solid pick for budget-conscious travelers
-
SUVs and crossovers (Dacia Duster, Hyundai Tucson): higher ground clearance for rough road stretches near Taghazout or approaching Paradise Valley; SUVs are ideal for exploring mountainous terrains around Agadir, and they fit surfboards or extra luggage. For electric options, check what is available in the SUV category
-
Vans and minivans (7+ seats): practical for groups or families traveling together
Most modern vehicles on RentalMe include air conditioning, which is essential from May to September when coastal temperatures regularly exceed 30°C. Use "air conditioning" as a search filter to confirm. Business travelers needing comfort can filter for automatic transmission, GPS, and Wi-Fi options.

Driving Around Agadir: Routes and Tips
Agadir has wide coastal avenues, new roads north toward Taghazout Bay, and paved routes inland. Renting allows exploration of nearby attractions like Essaouira, roughly 2.5 hours north along the coast.
Key routes where a rental car saves time:
-
AGA to Agadir city center: approximately 25 to 30 km, about 30 to 40 minutes
-
Agadir to Taghazout and Tamraght: 20 to 30 km north along the N1, roughly 30 to 40 minutes
-
Agadir to Paradise Valley: about 58 km inland, 45 to 60 minutes via Aourir and the R112
-
Agadir to Souss-Massa National Park: 1 to 1.5 hours depending on entrance
Speed limits are 120 km/h on autoroutes, 100 km/h on open rural roads, and 40 to 60 km/h in cities. Fixed and mobile radar cameras are common, especially on tourist routes. Avoid driving at night in remote areas where roads are poorly lit. Use Google Maps or download offline maps before leaving the airport. For weekend getaway ideas with your rental car, consider Tangier, Marrakech, or the medina in Essaouira.
Pricing, Deals, and Best Time to Book in Agadir
Rental prices in Agadir are competitive and flexible, but they follow seasonal patterns. In shoulder seasons (April to May, September to October), daily rates for economy city cars average MAD 190 to 260 per day. SUVs cost around MAD 480 to 680 per day. Premium vehicles reach MAD 900 to 1,400 per day. In peak season (July, August, December holidays), expect increases of 15 to 30%. Compare Agadir Airport pickup versus downtown branches; the city locations often cost less
-
Be flexible with pickup and drop-off times; shifting by a few hours can reduce cost
-
For rentals of 7 or more days, many agencies offer weekly discount rates; monthly rentals yield better daily averages
For digital nomads or seasonal workers staying longer, some agencies list long-term rental options of 1 month or more with reduced daily rates. Check listings on RentalMe filtered for "long-term rental" in the Agadir area.
